User roles
==========

**Teachers** and **Course Designers** can :ref:`add and edit <configuring_assignments>`
Momotor assignment configurations.

Only **Teachers** can :ref:`publish <publishing>` or unpublish the results and :ref:`upload scores <upload_scores>`
to Canvas.

**Teachers** and **(Grading) Teaching Assistants (TA)** can :ref:`review <review>` the
results for the submissions by all students. They review all the results whether the assignment has been published
or not.

**Course Designers** can only configure assignments, but cannot view the results.

Canvas allows users to have multiple roles. The **(Grading) Teaching Assistants (TA)** and **Course Designers**
roles can be combined to allow a user to both configure assignments and view the results.

**Students** can only see the published results for their own submissions and the submissions made for a homework group
they are member of.
